Working on a painting and a drawing of the same subject. A block in and a quick paint study of the head. I will do several paintings after this one to get it right. And the drawing I will be working on for at least a month rendering it...still in early stages of the block in...still haven't really captured the gesture yet.

This week another couple of postcard paintings for my board. Here is the best one tacked up. Also working on another academic drawing, will post the progress of it next week.

More postcard studies done this week

One of my newest color studies and smallest paintings titled "Young Trader" will be showing in an exhibition titled "Greetings" at Culturefix in NYC. The address is 9 Clinton St. and is located on the Lower East Side. Opening reception will be on August 24th from 7pm – 9pm. This painting is an original oil painted on a 5 X 7" postcard. The postcard painting will be on sale at the show.

Also, this is one of many postcard studies that I am working on now and more will be uploaded shortly in the following weeks..so stay tuned.

Painting like the fury this week so there will be more to come I am sure. The top one is called "Wreckage" and it's halfway done. Bottom is called "Silence" which I am trying to finish today.

This Thanksgiving weekend I worked on several paintings. This is another one I tried to paint of a kid screaming keeping it in sketch mode to capture more gesture.

Here is another portrait. This time I painted the background first and before I put in the lights, I washed over it with the background color as opposed to mixing it in with the fleshtones.
